Frequently Asked Questions

General

What is a tradeline?+

A tradeline is the line-item for a credit account on a credit bureau report. When you buy a tradeline from us, you're added as an authorized user on an existing revolving credit account — such as a credit card — and that account then appears on your own credit report.

How does adding me as an authorized user work?+

We coordinate with the primary account holder of the credit account (our credit sponsor) to add you as an authorized user, with their full advance knowledge and consent. Once added, the account is expected to report to two or more credit bureaus.

Will a tradeline definitely help my credit score?+

We can't guarantee any specific outcome. We don't make promises about score improvement or the removal of any items from your credit report, and your rating may in fact decline. See the Tradeline User Agreement for the full disclaimer.

Our Tradeline List

What does "Purchase Deadline" mean?+

It's the last day we can take your order and still add you before that listing's Reporting Period. We don't show it in the catalog; a listing comes off automatically once it passes.

How often does the list change?+

Availability updates regularly as tradelines sell out or new ones become available, so pricing and stock you see reflects current availability rather than a static catalog.

What does "Reporting Period" mean?+

It's the set of days when the credit sponsor's bank is expected to report the account to the bureaus after you're added. The tradeline should post to two or more bureaus by the last day of that period.

Selecting Tradelines

Should I prioritize age or credit limit?+

It depends on your goals. Account age contributes to the average age of accounts on your report, while credit limit affects your overall utilization if you're carrying balances elsewhere. There isn't one right answer for every situation.

How many tradelines should I buy?+

That depends on your current credit profile and what you're trying to accomplish. Our free Tradeline Simulator lets you model how a specific tradeline would change your average account age and utilization before you commit.

Reporting & Posting

Will a tradeline post if I have a credit freeze or fraud alert?+

No — you must remove any credit freezes or fraud alerts at all three major bureaus before a tradeline can post to your report.

How long does a tradeline stay on my report?+

Two billing/posting cycles is the standard, and you should receive two consecutive postings to your report during that time. If you want the account to keep reporting beyond that, you can request an extension before the second cycle closes — the cost varies by tradeline and it is subject to the credit sponsor agreeing, so it is not guaranteed. Contact us and we will confirm what is possible for your listing. Otherwise you will be removed from the account at the end of the second cycle.

What happens if it doesn't post?+

If it hasn't posted to two credit bureaus by the end of its Reporting Period, and you haven't asked to be taken off that tradeline, you choose: a full refund or an exchange for another tradeline. See "How do I request a refund?" below for how to claim.

Placing an Order & Paying

How do I place an order?+

Browse current availability on the Tradelines page, select the tradeline(s) you want, and complete checkout. Your fee is considered earned upon receipt and is non-refundable except in the case of non-posting or non-performance on our part.

What documents will you need from me?+

We may need to verify information you provide — including identity documents — through a third-party verification service. If requested documents aren't provided within 48 hours, your order may be cancelled.

How do I request a refund for a non-posting tradeline?+

Email Info@tradelinebuilders.com within 21 days after the Reporting Period ends. Include your name, the tradeline's Card ID (it's in your order confirmation and your account, starting with TB-), proof it didn't post to at least two bureaus (your Credit Karma login, or full current reports from AnnualCreditReport.com, myFICO.com or the bureaus; no screenshots), and whether you'd like a refund or an exchange. We confirm within 3 business days, then send your refund or set up your exchange within 4 business days. Full details are in the Tradeline User Agreement.

Credit Repair & Score Info

Do you offer credit repair services?+

No. We sell authorized-user tradelines only — we don't dispute items on your credit report or offer credit repair services.

Is a tradeline the same thing as "piggybacking"?+

Piggybacking is the general term for benefiting from someone else's credit history as an authorized user — buying a tradeline from us is a formal version of that, arranged with the credit sponsor's full knowledge and consent.

Business Credit

Do you sell business tradelines?+

Our current catalog is focused on personal authorized-user tradelines. Contact us if you're specifically looking for business credit options.

Legal Topics

Do you accept CPNs in place of a Social Security Number?+

No. You may not use, provide, or submit a Credit Protection Number, alternate SSN, or any other false or unauthorized identifying information. Doing so is a material breach of the Tradeline User Agreement and voids any refund.

Can I contact the bank whose tradeline I was added to?+

No, not without express written consent from the account owner. Unauthorized contact with the lending institution is a breach of the agreement.

Affiliate Program

Do you work with affiliates?+

Yes — see the Affiliate Program page to apply. Applications require real business information (legal business name, EIN, business license) so we can verify who we're working with.

After Your Tradeline Posts

What should I do once my personal credit is where I want it?+

If you run a business, the next thing worth building is credit in the business's own name — tied to its EIN rather than your Social Security number, so the business can borrow as itself and your personal file stops carrying it. Develop Credit (developbusinesscredit.com) does that side — we mention it because it covers something we don't.

Credit Sponsor Info

I have a credit card with a long history and low balance — can I sell a tradeline?+

Possibly — contact us to submit your account for consideration. Credit sponsors are expected to keep balances low (generally 15% or less of the limit) and their accounts in good standing while a client is an active authorized user.
